The Teledyne Marine Systems (TMSys) team has welcomed two strategic hires recently. As an integrated team we will continue to build our program work. As special projects for Government agencies or customizations of our core products for commercial customers a nimble special projects capability is a key offering from TMSys. Similarly a full portfolio of low-logistics high performance vehicles is a key element of our portfolio. Teledyne Benthos pioneered the small ROV market in the 1980s. We honor that heritage today with our full-line of small ROVs. Over the coming 12-18 months we will be refreshing the core technology and expanding features to support the high value payloads required for demanding missions. With these key goals in mind we have expanded our team.
We are pleased to welcome Dan Shropshire to our team as a Senior Program Manager. Dan has worked extensively in program management for NASA, particularly the Chandra X-ray observatory, NASA’s flagship X-ray telescope. He will support the Benthos product lines with a focus on Government programs and complex engineering specials. As the TMSys portfolio of networked systems business grows Dan will be working closely with those inter-business unit programs as well. Also we are pleased to welcome Peter Ranelli, the new Product Line Manager for Remotely Operated Vehicles. Peter holds a Ph.D. In oceanography and brings long experience in marine science and technology, including service in the US Navy. He retired at the rank of Captain and brought his skills to the private sector. Peter will be working closely with engineering on the ongoing refresh of the ROV line.
